FTI Consulting promotes Andrés Gómez and Leonardo Florencio
FTI Consulting has promoted two of its senior advisors in South America to Senior Managing Director level: Andrés Gómez and Leonardo Florencio.
Bogotá-based Andrés Gómez has been appointed a Senior Managing Director in the firm’s Strategic Communications practice. At FTI Consulting, he leads the Public Affairs, Corporate Communications and Crisis Management practices for Latin America.
Gómez specializes in the planning, development and execution of communications and public affairs strategies for companies in all states, from those seeking to rejuvenate their rebrand to those in a merger or facing a (reputational) crisis situation.
Over the past fifteen years, he has worked as a consultant with clients throughout Latin America, particularly in Colombia, Panamá, Venezuela, Ecuador and Honduras. Prior to joining FTI Consulting in 2012, Gómez worked for Gravitas, a Colombian business communications consultancy based in Bogotá.
Earlier in his career, Gómez worked at several newspapers and magazines (El Espectador, Calle 22) and served as a communications adviser for the local municipality of Bogotá.
Fellow newly promoted Senior Managing Director Leonardo Florencio meanwhile is based in São Paulo, Brazil. He specializes in valuation engagements for disputes, mergers and acquisitions, investments, tax and accounting purposes. He has been with FTI Consulting since early 2017, having previously served PwC for seven years in its Corporate Finance arm.
In addition, Florencio was the Chief Financial Officer of São Paulo-based medicine distributor Expressa Distribuidora, a Consultant at Stern & Stewart and an Analyst at the Central Bank of Brazil.
His track record in valuations includes providing M&A advisory (buy-side and sell-side) to Brazilian and international clients, advising on restructuring projects representing both creditors and companies, and providing valuation and damages expert advisory services to clients and arbitration tribunals in commercial and investment disputes.
Gómez and Florencio are part of an intake of 34 new Senior Managing Directors, the majority of which are based in the United States, where FTI Consulting is headquartered.
Globally, the firm has around 4,700 employees located in 28 countries, generating revenues of just over $2 billion during fiscal year 2018. The firm’s Latin American footprint consists of offices in Bogotá, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Monterrey.
