Wipro adds 600-strong team in Brazil with IVIA acquisition
Wipro has significantly bolstered its presence in Brazil with the acquisition of digital services firm IVIA. Financial details have not been disclosed for the deal, which is set to close in September this year.
IVIA was founded in Fortaleza, Brazil in 1996, and has since grown into a team of well over 600 professionals spread across three locations in the country. The multifaceted team brings a variety of technology expertise to the table, offering solutions through data-driven business insights, staff augmentation, software development and innovation support.
The firm currently serves a pool of clients across key sectors, including Brazil’s rapidly digitalising financial services industry, as well as the public, manufacturing, health and media industries, among others. IVIA’s large and talented team will now join global IT services giant Wipro.
Currently with offices across Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica, Wipro is looking to consolidate its presence in a vibrant Latin American market, where digital services are increasingly in the spotlight. IVIA’s large team will also enable Wipro to build out delivery centres in the North East of Brazil.
“We welcome employees of IVIA to the Wipro family. They bring with them unique strengths and experience that will be of immense benefit to Wipro. We continue to make strategic investments in this region and this acquisition will help us address the needs of clients across multiple verticals. Wipro’s digital capabilities combined with IVIA’s strengths will maximize benefits for clients,” said Mukund Seetharaman, Vice President & Head of Latin America for Wipro.
IVIA has a strong position and reputation in the Brazilian market, having won a number of ratings including ISO 9001, CMMI and others. The firm also consistently ranks as one of the best places to work in Brazil for the last decade. Senior leadership at the firm has lauded the scale and resources that Wipro can bring to its operations.
“We are excited about what Wipro and IVIA can deliver jointly to clients, transform communities and leverage information technology to empower people. Wipro’s fast-growing presence in the region, digital transformation capabilities, its global customer portfolio and delivery model will help our talent and customers immensely,” said Alexandre Menezes, founder & Chief Marketing Officer of IVIA.
Alongside its headquarters in Fortaleza, IVIA has offices in Racife and Natal, giving the new combined entity a strong foothold in the North East of Brazil.
