Alvarez & Marsal opens new office in Mexico City
International consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal has expanded its footprint in Latin America with the opening of an office in Mexico.
Alvarez & Marsal has hired Arturo D'Acosta Ruiz, formerly president of the Mexican Stock Exchange New Listing Committee, as managing director and head of operations for Mexico. Ruiz brings with him an extensive career gained in the financial services and finance sector, specializing in advisory and business planning.
The company’s expansion into Mexico marks Alvarez & Marsal's third step into Latin America having previously opened offices in São Paulo, Brazil and Bogotá, Colombia. The consultancy now has upwards of 50 professionals in Latin America working in the area of management consulting, financial advisory, turnaround, corporate finance, performance improvement and digitization.

With a population of 117 million, Mexico is one of South America's largest economies. Mexico City houses around eight million inhabitants.
