FTI Consulting appoints Antonio Gesteira and Gustavo Galizzi
FTI Consulting has appointed two new Senior Managing Directors in its Brazilian team.
A member of the Technology division, Antonio Gesteira is a forensic technology and e-discovery expert with more than 20 years of industry experience. He has significant expertise in leading investigations and e-discovery matters across every phase of the e-discover process.
In his new role, Gesteira will focus on building the firm’s e-discovery and digital forensics solutions in Brazil, as well as growing the local team across crucial areas including data preservation and collection, advanced analytics, document review, investigations, data privacy and information governance.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Gesteira was a leader at Protiviti in its Brazilian office. Previously, he held senior positions at Big Four consulting firms for more than a decade.
Commenting on his appointment, Gesteira said, “There is currently a gap in the market in Brazil between the need for complex investigations solutions and the availability of deep digital forensic expertise. FTI Consulting stands out among other providers for our breadth of technology capabilities and global talent. We have a significant opportunity to help clients in this region address the evolving impact of investigations, data privacy laws and regulatory risk.”
A member of the Risk & Investigations practice within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting division, Gustavo Galizzi brings over two decades of experience in complex investigations, disputes and regulatory matters.
Galizzi joins FTI Consulting from the São Paulo office of law firm Barbosa Müssnich & Aragão Advogados. He also was the founding partner of Candido, Martins & Galizzi, a legal boutique in São Paulo.
During his time in the legal industry, Galizzi represented clients on legal and reputational issues involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, private equity transactions, capital markets, investigations, corporate disputes and arbitration. He also has experience with financial crime matters, including situations involving anti-bribery and anti-corruption legislation like the Brazil Clean Company Act and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Commenting on his appointment, Galizzi said, “FTI Consulting’s team of professionals supports clients through their most complex investigations, disputes and regulatory challenges. I look forward to working alongside this talented group of experts in Latin America and around the world particularly when they face serious allegations requiring internal investigations or expert work in high-stakes litigation to protect and enhance their enterprise value.”
