Deloitte acquires Chile-based cyber consultancy Makros
Global accounting and consulting firm Deloitte has strengthened its business in Chile with the acquisition of Makros.
Makros is a a Chilean cybersecurity business with 18 years of experience in the domestic market. The firm’s 100 professionals serve more than 200 clients, in areas such as cyber strategy, perimeter security, cloud security, and identity management.
Ricardo Briggs, CEO and Managing Partner of Deloitte in Chile, said the purchase positions the Big Four firm at the forefront of cybersecurity consulting in the country, with its Cybersecurity practice now 250-strong.
“This investment will push us forward in delivering complete and innovative solutions. We can now provide end-to-end cybersecurity services to our clients,” said Briggs.
“The pandemic magnified the increasing and constant need to digitalize processes across all of our clients’ various functions. This has led us to not only leverage our cybersecurity and cyber risk services, but also to continuously renew the data analysis, processing, management applications and technology that are relevant to our clients’ operations and strategies, to deliver the most complete solutions possible,” he continued.

Last year, rival Accenture also turned to inorganic means to boost its cyber business. The purchase of Real Protect added 90 staff to its team in Brazil.
