Global Microsoft services company Avanade has appointed the Brazilian Rodrigo Caserta as its new chief executive officer.

Effective from the start of next month, Rodrigo Caserta will lead a team of 60,000 professionals working in 28 countries around the globe, serving clients on all their needs for Microsoft technologies and solutions.

Founded in 2000, Avanade is dedicated exclusively to Microsoft products such as Microsoft Dynamics, 365, Azure and Copilot, and has served over 5,000 clients and won dozen Microsoft partner awards since its inception.

A Brazilian national, Caserta has been with Avanade since 2016, initially joining as Vice President and later on transitioning to the role of Country Manager for Brazil. In 2020, he was appointed as President of Growth Markets (spanning mostly Asia Pacific and Latin America countries), based out of Singapore.

“During this time, my team and I achieved an impressive 80% growth in both revenue and headcount; more than doubled the size of Avanade’s direct revenue; and established specialist technology and delivery hubs in Adelaide, Perth, Japan, Recife and Malaysia. As a result, Growth Markets was named Avanade’s ‘Area of the Year’ for two consecutive years,” said Caserta.

Karthik Narain, Board Chair of Avanade, stated: “Since joining Avanade nearly a decade ago, Rodrigo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to fostering a people-first, client-focused culture. As General Manager of Brazil and later as President of Growth Markets, Caserta led significant growth in both revenue and headcount across Avanade’s Asia Pacific and Latin America regions, consistently outpacing the market.”

For his new role as CEO, Caserta will this month relocate to Seattle, where Avanade is headquartered.

“It’s a privilege to become Avanade’s next CEO. In an era marked by complex challenges, fierce competition, and the imperative to capitalise on AI, our clients have consistently found a trusted partner in Avanade. I am excited and look forward to this opportunity to lead – guided by our deep expertise, bold ambitions and a spirit of collaboration,” he said.

Caserta succeeds Pamela Maynard, who is stepping down at the end of August to join Microsoft as Chief AI Transformation Officer for Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions.

Earlier in his career, Caserta spent nearly a decade at Accenturein Rio de Janeiro, growing the ranks to Senior Manager in its consulting business. He then spent eight years at Brazilian IT services provider Totvs, holding multiple leadership roles, before commencing his journey at Avanade.
