High-tech consulting firm TMC launches new office in Mexico
International high-tech consultancy TMC has launched a new office in Mexico, its first in Latin America.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, TMC is an engineering and technology consulting company dedicated to the high-tech segment. The firm’s 2,700 staff worldwide (mainly in Europe) serve diverse industries such as technology, semiconductors, IT services, energy and renewables, and life sciences.
According to Pierre-Antoine Adam, Managing Director of TMC in Mexico, the firm’s expansion into the country couldn’t have been timelier. “While the high-tech consultancy market in Europe is quite saturated, Mexico presents a unique opportunity for growth.”
These growth opportunities stem from companies in Mexico, but more so from US-based corporations that have a nearshoring model for high-tech talent. “There is a strong trend of nearshoring, with multinational companies shifting their manufacturing facilities to Mexico to meet North American demand,” said Adam.
He said that TMC is well positioned to meet demands in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, life sciences, energy, and other sectors “that require specialized knowledge in emerging technologies.”
Another reason for picking Mexico as its LATAM base builds on the country’s pool of digital and engineering talent. “Mexico is home to many renowned universities, offering a rich talent pool that aligns perfectly with our model. We are eager to introduce talented professionals to the benefits of our unique approach, which emphasizes autonomy, continuous learning, and entrepreneurial spirit.”
With Mexico now part of its footprint, alongside its recently launched inaugural Saudi office, TMC has hubs in 16 countries worldwide. The goal is to expand that significantly by 2030, when TMC wants to have tripled in size.
Emmanuel Mottrie, CEO of TMC, stated: “Our goal is to grow to 10,000 employees globally by 2032. This growth will allow us to provide our international customers with excellent service from our well-trained specialists while maintaining a strong local presence.”
“With Pierre-Antoine leading the way, we are confident in our ability to become a strong player in the Mexican market,” he added.
Prior to joining TMC, Adam held multiple leadership positions with Otis and Alten, where he was stationed in various locations across Europe and the Middle East. In his most recent role at Alten, he led the Aeronautics, Defence, and Space division in France.
Speaking about his ambitions in Mexico, he said: “As a first step, I am excited to build a vertical around technology and engineering, focusing primarily on the automotive, aeronautic, and industrial equipment industries, particularly in product development, manufacturing engineering, and services related to automation and smart factories. In the second phase, we plan to develop a vertical around life sciences and pharma industries.”
