Menzies enters Panama with acquisition of Aircraft Services and Consulting

Scotland-based aviation servicer Menzies Aviation has acquired Aircraft Services and Consulting, marking its entry into the strategically important Panama market.
Due to its geographic location, Panama is an important economic gateway in the Americas, linking the Pacific and Atlantic seas. That has seen Tocumen International Airport and Scarlett Martinez International Airport become important hubs for passengers and efficient freight transportation.
With over 15 million passengers each year, Tocumen International Airport is the largest airport in Central America, home to COPA Airlines as and more than 20 major regional and international carriers.
Local business Aircraft Services and Consulting has a recognised 20-year history of operations in Panama, providing technical aircraft-related and advisory services to both Tocumen International Airport and Scarlett Martinez International Airport, as well as other players in the aviation sector. As part of the deal, the full team of Aircraft Services and Consulting will transfer to Menzies Aviation.
Panama becomes Menzies Aviation’s seventh country in Latin America, alongside Mexico, Columbia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Chile.
John Redmond, Executive Vice President of Americas at Menzies Aviation, said: “We are excited to add our 7th country in Latin America and our 46th and 47th airports respectively in this important and growing market. This acquisition bolsters our position as the leading player in the global aviation services industry and further demonstrates our commitment to being a trusted service partner across this region.”
