As part of Andersen Tax & Legal’s global expansion, the firm has opened a new office in the Mexican city of Monterrey. The new office will be led by PwC alumnus Jose Luis Hinojosa, who spent 16 years with the firm as the Director of Foreign trade.

Andersen Tax & Legal Mexico is an independent tax, financial advisory and consulting firm in the Andersen Global network. The Anderson Global network has over 95 member and collaborating firms spread across 40 countries, including Panama, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, and has employees 2500 professionals worldwide.

Andersen Tax & Legal in Mexico became a member firm of Andersen Global in June of 2015 and has since been expanding inside the country. Today, the independent firm has 4 offices in the country, including the new Monterrey addition.

The new Monterrey office is central to the strategic expansion plans of Andersen Global and shows the firm’s intent to close in on the lucrative northern Mexican market. Monterrey is the capital of Mexican production, located in the northeast of the country; the city plays an important role in the Mexican production industry and is home to many international manufacturing companies.

Monterrey is also home to the third largest urban population in its greater metropolitan area and serves as a financial hub for the north of Mexico. The city plays host to a number of large financial institutions, international corporations including Cemex and Grupo Bimbo and each of the Big Four accounting and advisory firms.

Jose Luis Hinojosa will serve as the new Partner leading the Monterrey office. Hinojosa has had extensive experience in international financial advisory throughout his 20 year career, including a 16 year stint with accounting giant PwC. At PwC, Hinojosa worked a number of roles, most recently as the Director of Foreign Trade, Customs & VAT. He has also held positions within the Mexican public sector at the Ministry of Economy in the Export Promotion Programs department.

The new partner said of his appointment; “It is an honor to join Andersen Tax & Legal in Mexico and I’m eager to bring my experience to the team for the success of the firm with the expansion of the new office location in Monterrey.”

Office Managing Partner for Andersen Tax & Legal in Mexico, Jose Luis Montes, commented; “We believe that Jose Luis will help reinforce our strategy of expansion through adding not only best-in-class personnel, but also ensuring service excellence for our clients locally and internationally, through the member and collaborating firms of Andersen Global.”

Andersen Tax and Legal has been consistently expanding in Mexico in recent times, having opened an office in Querétaro, an industrial city located north of Mexico City last year. Querétaro has shown huge potential with an influx of international businesses and is considered to be one of the growth hotspots of the country.

“The addition of the location in Querétaro is indicative of the success of our team in Mexico and our growing capabilities within the region,” said Mark Vorsatz, CEO of Andersen Tax in the U.S in October last year. “We are poised for significant growth in Latin America in the future.”
