Felipe Valencia-Dongo (Grupo Estrategia) named Young Global Leader
The 2023 class of Young Global Leaders has been announced by the World Economic Forum, with Felipe Valencia-Dongo – managing partner of Peruvian consulting firm Grupo Estrategia – one of only four consultants included in the prestigious cohort.
With more than 1,400 members from over 120 countries, the Forum of Young Global Leaders, founded in 2004, has grown into a diverse community of exceptional individuals tackling the world's most critical issues.
The class of 2023, chosen by the World Economic Forum, includes leaders from fields as diverse as politics, artificial intelligence, climate activism, sports, and business.
Felipe Valencia-Dongo, a Peruvian leader at Grupo Estrategia, was one of very few from the world of consulting to be admitted into the class. He was one of around a dozen Latin Americans chosen for the class of 2023.
“I am deeply honored and excited to share that I have been selected as a Young Global Leader,” said Valencia-Dongo in a LinkedIn post. “This opportunity will help Grupo Estrategia and me to enhance our work and to have a greater impact both in Peru and Latin America.”
“The Young Global Leaders class fosters the world’s most prominent and trailblazing leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers and visionaries under the age of 40,” said Wadia Ait Hamza, Head of the Forum of Young Global Leaders. “We commend the 2023 class for their outstanding commitment to addressing pressing global issues.”
Grupo Estrategia is a company with a social mission that has organized private investments for social benefit totaling more than $500 million. Valencia-Dongo has worked to further collaboration between the private sector, the public sector, and local communities to achieve sustainable development between them.
An economist by training, Valencia-Dongo graduated with honors from the Universidad del Pacifico in Lima before going on to complete a Master of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge.
A champion of education and higher learning, he previously served as CEO and Fund Manager at a higher education investment fund. He was also Advisor to the Prime Minister of Peru as well as Advisor to the Minister of Education during the implementation of educational reforms.
Valencia-Dongo served as Vice-President and Member of the Board at IPAE, a Peruvian non-profit organization that promotes development and education.
