BrazilPioneer Consulting to support Campos Basin of Petrobras Malha Optica project
Blue Marine, a Brazilian group that installs and maintains subsea cable networks, has contracted Pioneer Consulting to support another workstream of the Malha Optica project.
The Malha Óptica is set to become the world’s foremost oil & gas fiber optic system: a 440-km trunk-and-branch system that will link 12 oil & gas production platforms, with two cable landing stations in Brazil’s Anchieta (Espirito Santo) and Barra do Furado (Rio de Janeiro).
The network will provide Petrobras with the bandwidth to modernize telecommunications, drive digital transformation at its oil & gas facilities, and improve connectivity to future platforms.
US-headquartered telecom specialist Pioneer Consulting has been supporting the project since 2021, and will now also advise on all aspects related to oil and gas telecom engineering, marine route survey, cable route engineering, quality and documentation, contractor and supplier management, and installation oversight for the Campos Basin phase.
Pioneer Consulting said that the new project will benefit from synergies from its ongoing work and experience with the Santos Basin phase.
