Andersen Global touches down in Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay
Andersen Global, a professional services firm with more than 3,500 professionals worldwide, has in recent months significantly ramped up its presence in Latin America.
The latest addition to its footprint is that of Goldemberg Saladino Hermida Rolando & Asociados. The Buenos Aires based firm has eight partners and over 100 advisors and staff, supporting clients on topics such as financial and business consulting, tax, compliance, international tax planning, transfer pricing, tax and customs litigation, payroll, bookkeeping and wealth management services.
“This was an important decision for our firm,” said Gabriel Hermida, Senior Partner at Goldemberg Saladino Hermida Rolando & Asociados. “Andersen Global’s reputation of excellence, stewardship, and transparency lines up well with what our clients value and have come to expect from us. The synergistic collaboration yields great benefits for our clients and our people.” Mark Vorsatz, Chairman of Andersen Global commented, ““All of the professionals at Goldemberg Saladino Hermida Rolando & Asociados have a high-calibre reputation in Argentina and provide a broad platform to assist on legal and tax matters.”
In the third quarter, Andersen Global welcomed two collaborating firms to its association: Tufiño Villegas in Bolivia and BKM Berkemeyer in Paraguay. The latter firm is one of the largest and oldest law firms in the market – BKM Berkemeyer has nearly 150 professionals, including ten partners and over 60 lawyers, across two locations in the capital city of Asunción. The advisory firm provides legal services in all areas of law, including business and corporate, taxation, litigation, environment, employment and intellectual property. The firm also specializes in M&A’s, joint ventures, foreign investment, infrastructure, project finance and financial transactions.
“BKM provide us with a significant presence in an important market,” said Vorsatz. Hugo Berkemeyer, Managing Partner of BKM remarked “We are excited to collaborate with Andersen Global, because this will allow us to further employ global teamwork and collaboration to provide best-in-class quality and practical advice through the member firms and collaborating firms of Andersen Global.”
With offices in La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba, Tufiño & Villegas marks Andersen Global’s market entry into Bolivia. Founded in 1995 by Managing Partners Jose Luis Tufiño and Alvaro Villegas Aldazosa, the tax and legal advisory specializes in corporate law services, as well as tax law services such as international tax, transfer pricing, tax planning, due diligence, tax litigation, outsourcing, and national taxation. Tufiño & Villegas works for clients in a broad range of sectors, including oil and gas, mining, finance, agriculture, insurance, aeronautics, telecommunications, real estate and software.
Villegas on the rationale behind joining the global association: “The services offered to our local and international clients and countries will be diversified through the collaboration with Andersen Global.”
The addition of a presence in Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay adds to Andersen Global’s already existing Latin American footprint in Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Chile and Uruguay. “Our progress and explosive growth in Latin America is a tribute to the quality and leadership of our partners in that market,” concluded Vorsatz.
